Blob Ingredients: Chocolate (unsweetened chocolate, sugar, cocoa butter, milk powder, nonfat dry milk, milk fat, soy lecithin, natural vanilla extract) Pistachios, sea salt, cranberries, sugar, sunflower oil. Pretzel Bits: cornstarch, potato starch, tapioca starch, palm oil, dextrose, cellulose gum, baking powder (sodium acid pyrophosphate, sodium bicarbonate, corn starch, mono-calcium phosphate), salt, citric acid, yeast, soda.
The Blobs are named for the 1958 movie, The Blob, starring a young Steve McQueen.
Scenes from the movie were filmed at the Colonial Theater and other spots in and around Phoenixville. The marquee proudly announces that the theatre is ‘healthfully air conditioned’. The Colonial Theatre was featured in a pivotal scene of the movie as the creature starts to attack the town. A commemorative plaque is located on the rear wall of the balcony in honor of the film's projection-room scene, in which The Blob oozes through the projection openings.
